The latest Nexus smartphone may be the pride of Google and LG, but unfortunately, it doesn't come without its share of bugs, at least according to few user reports and critical reviews.
We've collected the biggest Nexus 5 issues currently being discussed over the Internet, and are sharing them with our readers along with possible workarounds for the problems, until Google and LGaddress them via a software update.
1. Audio problem
The most discussed problem in the Nexus 5 has been the audio. Users report the speaker is not loud enough, and the audio quality is poor. The two grills at the bottom edge are confused for speakers from the pictures but actually, the bottom left grill is the speaker, and the right grill is actually a microphone.
Workaround: There isn't anything from Google that fixes this problem as of now. However, there are couple of fixes you can try. The most obvious fix is to ensure you aren't blocking the speaker (bottom left grill) with your hand. Another one is downloading a third-party music app for the music playback, which unfortunately will not help you majorly but you can tweak around with the equaliser settings. Else wait for an update from Google to fix it.
2. Issues with the camera
Though Nexus 5 features an 8-megapixel Optical Image Stabilisation camera module, there are a lot of complaints regarding slow auto-focus, shutter lag, blurry images and inconsistent colour reproduction in images. The widely-accepted consensus on this issue is that the problems are not because of the camera hardware, but the software.
Workaround: While you have to wait for a camera app or firmware update from Google for a long-term fix, in the meantime you can try third-party camera apps.
3. Wi-Fi connection problem
An issue which has been noticed widely with the Nexus 5 is the Wi-Fi connection drop.
Workaround: Simply switching Wi-Fi off and on, or toggling Airplane mode and back again has been known to fix the problem for some users. Others reported success after rebooting the phone. Another possible fix is via Wi-Fi Settings. Here, select Advanced then select Wi-Fi frequency band and try '2.4GHz only' or '5GHz only' instead of Auto, and see if that helps.
4. Power button problem
A few Nexus 5 users have complained about the power button making a knocking sound when the phone is shaken.
Workaround: If the movement is slight, then it's normal, but if you find it really loose, then you might want to consider getting the phone replaced. You could also use a case for the phone if you don't get a replacement device.
Nexus 5 also comes with a below par battery backup, but there's not much you can do about it, unless you see erratic behaviour (e.g. huge battery drain within no time). If you experience such problems, you might be eligible for getting a replacement unit.

Google and Samsung have finally released the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, soon after the HTC One Google Play Edition received the update on Monday.
The search engine giant announced the news via its official Android Google+ page and said, "Starting today, Samsung GS4 and HTC One Google Play edition devices are getting an update to Android 4.4!"
After detailing Android 4.4 KitKat along with the Nexus 5 launch, Google had promised that the updatewould land on Google Play editions of Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One in the coming weeks and it seems the company has indeed kept its promise.

The Android 4.4 KitKat iteration brings some new features such as the translucent menu bar, which is located at the bottom of the screen; new dialler and caller ID; unified Hangouts messaging app; smarter Google Now integration; step counter and detector, and support for screen recording.
Smartphone manufacturers such as HTC, Motorola and Sony have already revealed plans for the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade. HTC was one of the first handset manufacturers who announced theAndroid 4.4 KitKat rollout plans for its flagship smartphone, the HTC One. The company confirmed that Android 4.4 KitKat update for HTC One for EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) countries would commence by the end of January 2014.
Not too long ago, Nexus 4 reportedly started receiving Android 4.4 KitKat update in India via OTA alongside the Nexus 7 3G tablet model.

Following reports of people in India starting to receive the Android 4.4 update on their Nexus 4 smartphones and Nexus 7 3G tablets, HTC has also released the update for its HTC One Google Play Edition smartphone.
HTC has gradually started to roll out the Android 4.4 KRT16S update for the HTC One Google Play Edition globally. The 305MB update should be available over the air, and users also have the option to download it manually.
Earlier, we had reported that the HTC One GPE will get its Android 4.4 KitKat update by in November-end, however there was no confirmed date then. Now users who have received the update are reporting noticeable improvement in performance. The update also brings the new ART runtime, which reportedly still has some way to go, as certain apps still crash under it.
Following HTC's release of the Android 4.4 KitKat update for its HTC One Google Play Edition smartphone, we expect to see Samsung doing the same soon for its Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition smartphone.
Recently HTC has announced its latest phablet, the One Max (16GB variant) in India at an MRP of Rs. 61,490, and a best buy price of Rs. 56,490. The smartphone comes with HTC's Sense 5.5 out-of-the-box, but runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Of all top Android manufacturers, HTC and Motorola seem to be among the least likely players to release timely Android upgrades. Prior to the One and Moto X neither of the two has actually been quick to announce immediate roll-outs nor reassuring plans to do so for the foreseeable future. Yet here we are today with both HTC and Motorola doing just that. Interesting how their strategies have changed.
HTC's US arm has announced that the North American models of the HTC One will receive the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade by the end of January 2014. This estimate also includes the Verizon version, which has yet to even get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. HTC, however, says that this situation will not affect its plans.
Furthermore, the Droid DNA -- which was released in November 2012 -- will also receive an upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat by the end of Q1 2014. HTC's US arm says that it's dependent on carrier certification, however.
In mid-November, HTC's US arm announced that the Android 4.4 KitKat code was delivered to Google for the Google Play edition of the One, with the upgrade roll-out for existing customers resting on the search giant's shoulders.
As some of you may know, Motorola already updated its Verizon-branded Moto X to Android 4.4 KitKat. This is very impressive considering that big red was never among the first carriers to have its devices upgraded to a new Android iteration. What is even more impressive though is that the Moto X on Verizon was updated ahead of Google's Nexus 4 which would have otherwise been the first smartphone to get Android 4.4 KitKat, outside of the Nexus 5.
Motorola expanded its Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade plans to also include the Atrix HD, Electrify M, Droid Razr HD, Droid Maxx HD and Droid Razr M.

There are several features which make android 4.4 kitkat a cool one. Google is always on something and now android sees 4.4 KitKat as a mature OS. The old version does not mean you have to rebuild the whole thing, so the latest version is prettier, faster and better. In this particular post we will let you know the features of this new Android OS and availability ofAndroid 4.4 Kit Kat on Micromax Android Phones.
Android 4.3 on Micromax phones is still not available few days back a tweet from MMXNewsCaster stated that the 4.3 version is quite buggy hence delayed too.
The OS is available on the cheapest handsets having cloud services and there are several other features. Here are few features explained:

Features of Android 4.4 KitKat:

•    This OS is made for low cost gadgets and has optimized the features for the low end device. This operating system runs smoothly on tablets and smart phones.
•    The OS smart caller ID will give priority to the people you talk mostly.
•    The app is redesigned and has user interface tweaks.
•    The app has more features like you can SMS in hangouts and image icons are available.
•    In this operating system, Google is also improved and updated and will provide you with twenty-five percent accuracy.

Will Micromax integrate it into their Canvas series?

Micromax phone is getting more popular today because of the fact that they are incorporating popular features into their phones, which makes it desirable. Micromax users may want to upgrade their devices and enjoy more benefits. As the last version of Android, that is 4.3 Jelly Bean, is yet not available on Micromax devices, it is safe to think that it is some time before KitKat becomes a part of the Canvas series. KitKat offers more speed, better security and lots more features. This OS requires 512 of minimum ram, which is almost in all of the Micromax devices.

Expected Micromax Devices to receive 4.4 KitKat Android Update

  1. Micromax Canvas Turbo
  2. Micromax Canvas 4
  3. Micromax Canvas Doodle 2
  4. Micromax Canvas HD
Seeing the growing market of this company, it is likely that all the future handsets of this company will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat.
Since no official info is out yet, we don’t know the exact date when this update will be rolled out for your Micromax device. If you’ve something to share regarding this update, Leave a comment below this post.
